Approximately 300 items of historical documents and folklore materials were handed down in Izumi City and its suburbs. Those are exhibited in this museum, including fossil animal footprints dating back million years and the largest jade beads in the era of Yayoi found at the ruins of Ikegami-Sone. Also provided are corners where real earthenware vessels can be handled directly and study rooms with historical materials for easy access.
